Points off Screen Assists (PoSA)

Points off screen assists (PoSA) - This stat is related to the previous one. It shows how many points have been scored from screens, while the previous just shows the number of successful field goals

July 2024

Before July 2014, PoSA were counted differently depending on the competition. e.g. in NCAA/NBA points scored from Free Throws following a Fouled Shot did not contribute towards total PoSA stats but in FIBA these points scored from Free Throws did contribute towards PoSA.

After July 2024, all stats will be calculated using the North American standard where points scored from Free Throws following a Fouled Shot do not contribute towards PoA. This will make it easier to compare teams and players when scouting across different competitions around the world.

Note, Instat Reports and API products remain unchanged and will continue to use legacy calculations, so you may see some differences compared to the web platform.
