Screen Assists (SA)
Screen assists (SA) - Screen is a typical basketball move where one player sets his body with tight crossed hands down in the form of a wall to help his teammate get open from his defender. This parameter counts the times when a screen has led to scoring a field goal.
Changelog
July 2024
Before July 2014, Screen Assists were counted differently depending on the competition. e.g. in NCAA/NBA points scored from Free Throws following a Fouled Shot did not contribute towards total Screen Assists stats but in FIBA these points scored from Free Throws did contribute towards Screen Assists.
After July 2024, all stats will be calculated using the North American standard where points scored from Free Throws following a Fouled Shot do not contribute towards Screen Assists. This will make it easier to compare teams and players when scouting across different competitions around the world.
Note, Instat Reports and API products remain unchanged and will continue to use legacy calculations, so you may see some differences compared to the web platform.
