Fouls

When a referee calls a foul, he shows the type of the foul that has been committed. Here are the different types of fouls:

Use of hands

The hands of the defender were used illegally while guarding.

Holding

The player holds the opponent more than the allowed by the rules.

Pushing

The player pushes the opponent more than the allowed by the rules.

Blocking

A defensive foul called when the defender does not use his body legally to stop the opponent.

Illegal screening

When an offensive player makes a screen not according to the rules

Charging

When an offensive player makes significant contact with a defensive player who has established their position with both feet on the ground and their torso square facing the opponent

Hooking

It can be both offensive and defensive foul and it happens when a player uses his hand like a hook to hold the opponent’s hand or easily get pass his body

Clamping

When an opponent is hooked by you with his arm between your arm and your side so he can’t move and get open to receive the ball.

Fake/Flop

When a player fakes that he has been fouled and the referees see this. Such a foul is penalized with a technical foul.
